It is really only a modal interpretation of the better known Chinese (or major) pentatonic scale, but symmetrical in tone interval structure. It is considered to be as soothing as, if not more than, the Chinese pentatonic scale, for its symmetrical harmonic structure and noncommittal tonality. The interval structure of Ancient Echo Wind Chime begins with a G Suspended 4 chord and expresses the full range of the Alto Voice (typical female singing voice).
